In this article, I will share my Titleist TSR2 driver review after hitting a bunch of balls in the Trackman studio.
With the buzz around the next phase of Titleist drivers, the Titleist GT driver line, I'll dive into my honest opinion on the TSR2 so you know whether it's worth adding to your bag.

Titleist TSR2 Driver Review in Short
The TSR2 is a great-looking and performing driver. The extensive sweet spot offers great forgiveness for those who need it. It’s also deceptively quiet, a change compared to other market drivers.
The increased distance I got out of it, not to mention the look and forgiveness, make you understand why the TSR2 is in the higher price range of drivers. There is a reason why it made our Most Forgiving Driver and Best Driver for High Handicappers and Beginners lists.

Titleist TSR2 Driver Performance
Specs of the TSR2 I tested: 10 Degree Loft, Standard Lie, Standard Length, 5.5, Project X HZRDUS Red CB 50 Gram Graphite Shaft.
I tested the TSR2 indoors with Trackman using Titleist Pro V1 RCT golf balls. Over one test session I hit a total of 84 golf balls.
Here is the data from my testing session:

You will notice 20+ yards shorter total average with the TSR2 over some of the more recent drivers tested, like the TaylorMade Qi10 MAX and Cobra DARKSPEED MAX driver.
My driver swing has improved significantly since hitting the TSR2, to a place where I am now getting the most out of each driver. My average swing speed is closer to 98 mph now, where with the TSR2 it was ~90 mph. This speed increase, and more square contact after adjusting my swing, is the reason for the difference. It has nothing to do with the TSR2 performance itself.
Appearance: A+
Looking at the TSR2, I thought it looked more like a “Stealth” than the TaylorMade line of drivers does. My favorite plane to see at the airshow as a kid was the Stealth Bomber, and the TSR2 reminds me of that dark, mysterious design.
The club head has a beautiful design that features an attractive chromatic finish that exudes confidence and sophistication.
The driver's sole has been designed with improved aerodynamics and a sleek appearance, effectively combining form and function in a single product.
At the heart of the clubhead is the multi-plateau variable face thickness technology. This innovative face technology creates variable thickness throughout the golf club face, resulting in maximum ball speed and optimized performance even when contact is outside the center.
Overall, it's just a beautiful design and a stunning driver.
Sound: B+
Regarding sound, the TSR2 has a quieter impact sound, combining understated looks with one of the most tranquil impact sounds among current drivers.
It wasn't overly boisterous and felt like Titleist got the tone perfect to represent the overall design. You will love hitting drive after drive with such a pure sound on contact. Reason for the B+ is sometimes (subjectively) you do want to hear a bit of a louder crack for emphasis, but overall, the TSR2 sound is good.
Forgiveness/Feel: A+
The feel was fantastic. Like test-driving cars, sometimes you find one that speaks to you and almost becomes an extension of you, and that is what the TSR2 felt like in my hands.
A big selling point for the TSR2 driver is the high level of forgiveness, thanks to the redesigned clubhead. The club's stability during off-center hits was noticeable, enhancing the consistency of my shots.
The TSR2’s wide sweet spot allows for a more significant margin of error and helps minimize the impact of mis-hits.
Distance: A
In my hitting the Titleist TSR2, I found it to excel in generating speed and consistent distance. The redesigned aerodynamics have paid off, as the clubhead speed consistently increased compared to previous models.
My numbers from Trackman don't necessarily represent the improved swing I now have with my driver, however, even with the swing speed that I had during (around 90 mph average) the TSR2 was still generating over 130 mph ball speed on average and 228 average total yards, which is great.
Accuracy: B-
The TSR2 does a reasonable job of keeping you on the fairway as best as it can, even when you are not hitting your best square shots. There were a few swings during Trackman testing that I felt may have gone a little more awry than I felt deserved, but overall I was getting pretty solid results.
Was it the most controlled or accurate club I have hit? No.
But when coupled with the distance and ball speed provided, the TSR2 holds its own.
Overall Swing Enjoyment: A
I loved hitting this driver. The Titleist TSR2 driver is ideal for you if value distance, forgiveness, and feel off the tee as much as I do (which is a lot).
Sounds crazy; what golfer wouldn’t?
Value: Is the Titleist TSR2 Driver Worth it?
The adjustability options may not be as broad as other drivers available, but that doesn’t detract from the quality performance the TSR2 can provide.
Combining that with the quieter impact sound and consistent contact, this club suits a wide range of golfers, especially high and mid handicappers.
The forgiveness can help the higher handicap golfers, while the lower spin technology can also be attractive to the mid and lower handicap players or those with faster swings.
The TSR2 does stand out as an exceptional choice, and it is one of my favorites just for the design touch alone.
Overall, it felt great to swing and I highly recommend the TSR2 be on your list of drivers to try if you are in the market for a new big stick.

You end up with a lower-spinning driver, so you should be hitting the TSR2 longer than the TSi2.
Moreover, the TSR2 has also seen improvements in sound and feel. The TSi2 still holds its ground as a commendable option, but the advancements made in the TSR2 make it stand out as a more refined option.
When comparing the TSR2 with competitors like the Taylormade Stealth, it's evident that both drivers provide excellent distance and performance.
TSR2 vs. TSR3?
The TSR2 driver is known for its low spin and long distance, thanks to its improved aerodynamics and player-preferred shaping.
On the other hand, the TSR3 driver was designed for players looking for more forgiveness and a higher launch angle.
As for their looks, both drivers maintain the classic Titleist appearance, but the TSR3 has an expanded toe section compared to the TSR2.
TSR2 vs. TSR4?
The main difference between these driver models lies in the level of adjustability. However, increased adjustability might only be essential for some golfers, and simpler models like the TSR2 could provide optimal performance for most.
In terms of distance, both the TSR2 and TSR4 are top performers.
However, the TSR2 has an edge regarding low spin, translating to greater distance. At the same time, the TSR4 focuses on maximizing forgiveness, which is more enticing for higher handicappers or golfers who struggle more with their driver consistency.
Who Should Play the Titleist TSR2 Driver?
The TSR2 driver is versatile and caters to a wide range of golfers.
With its beautiful look, impressive forgiveness, and quiet impact sound, I believe golfers of varying handicaps can benefit from the TSR2 driver.
If you need that extra forgiveness, the TSR4 might be a more suitable option.
For those with a strong driver game and/or are a lower handicap golfer overall, the TSR3 is the driver to try out.
