In this article, I am going to give my honest Cobra Aerojet MAX driver review after hitting over 75 balls with this aerodynamic club.
Once I hit about 20 balls and got a feel for the club, I really started to hit some beautiful ones and couldn't stop hitting.
If you're looking for a new driver that has MAX forgiveness for days when you're not hitting center-face, the Cobra Aerojet MAX might be the club you like at the price point you LOVE.

Cobra Aerojet MAX Driver Review In Short
The Cobra Aerojet MAX driver is tailored to offer enhanced forgiveness and a draw bias to help straighten slices.
It's designed to increase launch height and improve accuracy, and in swinging it I can attest that it does offer these features, along superb ball speed and incredible distance off the face.
Oh, it's also at a VERY reasonable price.

Cobra Aerojet MAX Driver Performance
Specs of the Aerojet MAX driver I tested: 9.0 Loft, Standard Length, Regular Flex, Mitsubishi Chemical Kai'li Blue 60 gram Graphite shaft.
I tested it indoors with Trackman and hit a total of 76 golf balls. I used RCT (Radar Capture Technology) golf balls to get accurate data. Here is the data from my testing session:

Appearance: A
The Aerojet MAX driver does have a decent look to it. Similar to the Aerojet, it has a good design but nothing is overly flashy about it.
The shape and color scheme are nice, and I enjoy the blue added in over what was previously gold or red on the LTDx line.
The face is a good design, however, I wish they kept the infinity symbol on the sweet spot from the LTDx era.
Sound: B+
The sound is good off the face of the Aerojet MAX driver. It was a bit louder than I thought it would be, however, it wasn't anything that annoyed me over hitting close to 80 drives with it.
To me, the sound is akin to a lower pitched smack. It isn't the BEST sounding driver I have heard, but there is nothing off-putting about it either.
Forgiveness/Feel: A+
The Cobra Aerojet MAX driver forgiveness is as expected and provides a safety net for days when your (or my) poor swings come out. The adjustability is also excellent, with the ability to interchange the 12 and 3 gram weights to focus on either more forgiveness or more draw bias, depending on your need.
I left the weights to focus more on forgiveness, and the Aerojet MAX did not let me down. If you look at the numbers from testing, knowing that I am an amateur and in 76 drives there were plenty that weren't right off the sweet spot, I had good quality ball speed and distance.
The feel of swinging the Aerojet MAX was fantastic, and similar to the Aerojet, the aerodynamic design allows for a very smooth swing and "swoosh" sound through the air. It's a nice compliment to the swing to hear that smooth sound.
Distance: A
This is the area with the Aerojet MAX that was incredibly surprising to me, and music to any amateur golfers ears. Yes, the Aerojet MAX gave the forgiveness that I expected, but the distance was so good with this driver I could not stop hitting it.
The longest drive I hit was 271.1 yards, and the second longest was 270.6 yards. They both felt amazing and smooth when center-face was lined up. The distance out of the Aerojet MAX driver is very good for a club design aimed at maximum forgiveness.
Accuracy: A+
The accuracy of the Aerojet MAX is something that also stood out when hitting with it. Right out of the jump, my first drive on Trackman was 260 yards dead straight down the fairway, with the second then being a little more off the bottom of the face and still went about 250 and center fairway.
Accuracy and reliability were at the forefront of my Aerojet MAX driver testing. Even on one of my drives that was much more in on the heel, which is generally less forgiving than the toe, had a nice little baby draw and ended up basically center fairway just under 250 yards total.
The Aerojet MAX driver has a slight draw bias and is very workable. It will give you the accuracy as intended if you like to play certain shot types, like baby fades or draws.
Overall Swing Enjoyment: A
My experience swinging the Aerojet MAX driver was great. It beat my expectations going into swinging it, and I actually feel a bit bad for the Aerojet because my driver swing was in such a better place when hitting the MAX that it looks like such a gap between distance capabilities for the two.
That said, both clubs are well designed but that extra forgiveness from the Aerojet MAX driver adds a bit more enjoyment knowing my heel shots can still get out there around 250 yards.
Value: Is the Cobra Aerojet MAX Driver Worth it?
The short answer: YES!
More described: Overall, Cobra has made a quality driver in the Aerojet MAX and has provided the forgiveness promised to those who need it.
The LTDx line of drivers surprised me in a good way, and building on that by releasing the Aerojet line maintains Cobra’s quality production. If you already have an LTDx or LTDx MAX, you are probably good right where you are.
However, with the new Cobra DARKSPEED MAX driver now on the market, and if you don’t want to spend $500 to $600 on a driver, you can find the Aerojet MAX driver for as low as $299 brand new.
At that price, it is almost too good to pass up for the performance that comes off of the Aerojet MAX's face.

Carbon Fiber Construction
The Cobra Aerojet MAX driver features a carbon fiber construction that contributes not only to its aesthetic appeal but also to its performance.
The carbon fiber material adds a sense of durability and a lightweight feel to the driver. It is also worth noting that this construction allows for an efficient energy transfer upon impact.
PWR-BRIDGE Weighting Technology
This feature gives you enhanced control over ball flight by providing draw bias. By “enhanced control,” I think they just mean not slicing the crap out of the ball as much and getting more balls in the fairway.
The PWR-BRIDGE technology places additional mass at the back of the clubhead, which helps in improving forgiveness on off-center strikes.
Whatever Cobra calls it, it makes a difference.
Aerodynamic Design Features
The engineers at Cobra have carefully crafted the Aerojet line of drivers to reduce drag, resulting in faster clubhead and ball speeds.
These faster clubhead and ball speeds help get reasonable distance out of the Aerojet MAX, even if the principal design focus is forgiveness and accuracy.
PWRShell Technology
This innovative design provides a large sweet spot and yields excellent ball speed retention on mis-hits. The result is higher launch angles and increased forgiveness across the face.
The PWRShell technology is also designed to provide optimized spin rates to provide good distance and help with accuracy.
H.O.T Face
The Cobra Aerojet MAX Driver also features the H.O.T (Highly Optimized Topology) Face design, resulting from using artificial intelligence to create a variable thickness pattern.
This tech is engineered to deliver more efficient speed and spin across the entire face of the club.
By optimizing the face's topology, Cobra aims to provide consistent spin and launch characteristics, which help produce more reliable and longer drives even when the ball is not struck perfectly in the center.
Summed up, they are doing everything they can to give us forgiveness.
Aerojet MAX Driver Customization and Adjustability
Adjustable Hosel Settings
The MyFly adjustable hosel has eight loft settings, allowing you to select your preferred launch angle and aiming to maximize distance.
These settings include -1.5°, -1°, -1° Draw, STD, STD Draw, +1°, +1° Draw, and +1.5°.
Weighting Adjustments
In addition to the adjustable hosel, the Cobra Aerojet MAX driver also offers heel and back sole weighting adjustments.
This is where the MAX slightly differs from the original Aerojet, where just the back sole weight is present.
The dual weights (12 gram and 3 gram) afford you the flexibility to either enhance the draw bias effect or to create a more neutral ball flight with enhanced forgiveness, depending on the desired shot shape and need (which can change round-by-round based on how you are swinging it that day).
